About METRIKA

What we do

Most money decisions come down to a few numbers: what you take home, what a loan really costs, whether renting or buying leaves you better off, what your savings could become. METRIKA lets you enter your own figures and get a clear result, a plain explanation of what it means, and the method behind it.

Our tools cover four areas: Calculate your money, Discover your personality, Simulate your future and Compare your choices. Every tool is free, and no sign-up is needed.

Who METRIKA is for

• Salaried workers checking payslips, loans and savings
• Small businesses and entrepreneurs checking their tax and margins
• Young people planning a car, a wedding or a first home
• Kenyans in the diaspora investing back home
• Expats, digital nomads and investors moving to or doing business in Kenya

How we build our tools

• Primary sources first. Statutory rates come from bodies such as the Kenya Revenue Authority, NSSF, the Social Health Authority, the Central Bank of Kenya and the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, or from reputable professional firms when official summaries aren't available.
• Methods in the open. Every tool explains how it calculates, what it assumes and what it leaves out.
• Dated and reviewed. Pages that depend on changing rates show when they were last checked. We review rates when laws, budgets or central bank decisions change.
• Corrections. If you spot an error, email us and we'll check it and correct the page.

Independence and advertising

METRIKA is free because it is supported by advertising and, in future, partnerships. Advertisers never influence our calculations, results or explanations, and ads are kept separate from the tools. Any sponsored tool or partner offer will be clearly labelled.

Where we're going

METRIKA launched in Kenya. We plan to add tools for Uganda, Tanzania and other African markets, and eventually for readers worldwide, under the same METRIKA name.
